Cat Behaviors: Cats Are Great Pets And Very Low Maintenance

Cats have long been regarded as the world's most enigmatic creatures- they move and act like predators, yet are caring and sensitive to their human owners. Some people love cats while others cannot stand them. Every attempt to systematically analyze cat behaviors has ended in frustration and mystery.

Cat watching is exciting and beautiful - their movement, the way they play, and their natural attention to detail. Exploring their behavior can be an engrossing experience. Cats are very territorial, but learn to tolerate and live with other cats reasonably well. Cats are very aware that survival is most important but they adapt to different situations and surroundings.

Cats quickly determine whether a human can be trusted or not, as a cat whisperer would say. Cats tend to be slow to allow people into their personal space. On the other hand, they have no fear of entering new and unfamiliar places.

House cats love to explore. They travel from yard to yard, expanding their territories. No matter how far they may go, they can always find their way back home. A cat's sense of smell is so keen, that they will come running as soon as you open a can of tuna, expecting a treat!

If you lack the time or the space to pamper a dog, you should definitely consider getting a cat. Cats clean and comb themselves with their tongues, so they don't need to be washed; they get sufficient exercise even in a limited space that they don't need to be walked.

Cats that spend most of their time indoors become used to scratching objects, one of the more important cat behaviors to consider when adopting or buying a cat. They will tear up your furniture unless you buy a scratching post or something similar. Cats generally prefer "cat condos," scratching posts with additional features, and will return to play there, thus sparing your other belongings.

A cat can be and indoor or outdoor pet or a combination of both. A cat will enjoy some time outdoors. They like to do things outside like watch small animals and birds, and may even try to catch one. Even though people say a cat has 9 lives, there are dangers that can hurt a cat. Fast cars on busy streets are dangerous to cat and could be reason to keep your cat indoors.

Cats can be hunters, smooth/fast or self-sufficient/self-sufficient/affectionate/sensitive animals. They are carefree pets but cat behaviors remain a mystery. Watching cats' move/play is an excitement. They coexist well with other cats but have survival instinct. According to a cat whisperer cats are careful/quick/cautious and identify trustworthy persons. House cats travel long distance but can find their way back home. They have a keen sense of smell. Cats are self-cleaning needing less maintenance compared to dogs and require limited space. Cats kept inside require scratching posts cats to facilitate scratching their body. Cats can be indoor/outdoor/both pets. Most cats prefer outdoors sometime to satisfy their hunting instincts.
